Design task

Program

The former synagogue in Győr has been home to the Faculty of Music at Széchenyi University since 2003. Thanks to its excellent acoustics, concerts, performances and other musical events are often organized here in addition to teaching. In addition to the spaces in the building, it would be useful for the music faculty to have accommodation where students could live permanently and teachers and guest performers could stay for short periods, supplemented by smaller rehearsal and music rooms, a café that could also be used by the city, with catering facilities where smaller events (concerts, readings, discussions) could also be held. The design program is proposal, defining of the number and size of specific rooms, spaces, their connections, additional spaces … is a part of the task with the help of international examples, functional and spatial studies.
